Kristen is a senior at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS). Over the years, she has found a strong love for science and helping bring science to a greater audience. Kristen has gotten involved in science by taking a number of science classes at her school and joining STEM-related clubs. She hopes to continue exploring her passion for science and helping others do the same. During her free time, she enjoys baking and going to cafés.

Hannah, a college sophomore, has had an interest in biotechnology research for much of her life. As a co-founder of Biotech & Global Health Outreach, Hannah is passionate about biotechnology, medicine, and general science and making them more accessible to students. Besides engaging in STEM, she enjoys watching movies, going on runs, and hanging out with her friends.

Casey is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Utah. Her research delves into understanding the functional roles and driving forces behind microbial communities, leveraging bioinformatics and -omics approaches. Passionate about bridging science and society, Casey actively engages in scientific outreach, advocating for science policy and fostering accessibility and diversity within STEM. Beyond science, she enjoys outdoor pursuits like hiking and skiing, spending time with her dog, and watching baseball.

Sriya Yerasu

Sriya is currently a sophomore at the University of Connecticut where she is studying Cognitive Science and Bioinformatics with a minor in Computer Science. Sriya has participated in various events for BGHO, one of which was running a booth at the Cambridge Science Festival on micropipetting for beginners. Along with taking difficult science courses, Sriya enjoys reading, dancing, and listening to music.

Alana is a sophomore at West Ranch High School. She loves being involved in STEM and sharing her passion with others. During her free time, she plays tennis for her high school team and dances at her local studio. She hopes to continue to inspire little girls to pursue their passion in STEM the way she was.

Jocelyn Cai

Jocelyn is a rising senior at Belmont High School in Belmont, MA. She has pursued her interest in the STEM field by taking STEM electives in school and delving into various science topics in her free time. Jocelyn is particularly interested in the field of biochemistry, as she is fascinated with being able to understand how the world around her works on a molecular level. Besides volunteering for BGHO, Jocelyn also fundraises for UNICEF, tutors local ELE students in English, and works at a local hospital, along with various other service activities. Some of her hobbies include playing piano, tennis, thrifting, and leaf pressing!

Matthew Sinanis

Matthew Sinanis is a senior at Eastchester High School in New York. He is extremely interested in STEM and has taken advanced courses in Computer Science, Physics, Calculus, and so much more. Matthew has worked as a private tutor since freshman year and has volunteered to tutor younger kids through several Honor Societies that he is a part of. Aside from volunteering in STEM, Matthew has volunteered with the international organization, Operation Smile, and has also volunteered in several environmentalist events through school clubs. Matthew is also an extremely dedicated drummer and spends his little free time practicing. Matthew hopes to one day work with a company such as Space X or NASA as space greatly intrigues him.

Ruthika Mamidi (Rui) is a sophomore at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. She has a deep interest in the medical field and wants to work in the ophthalmology field. When she isn't doing a STEM project, you can find her baking, painting, and listening to music.

Sania Hasan

Sania is a junior at Algonquin Regional High School and has been heavily involved in STEM since middle school. She participated in several math competitions and attended a summer camp at WPI to learn about biomedical engineering in eighth grade. She also participated in many science fairs and received second place in the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair in eighth grade. This past summer, Sania took a class at Harvard Secondary School to learn about the morals and ethics of biotechnology. Along with volunteering at BGHO, Sania will be volunteering to teach students vocal lessons and will do math tutoring. Some of her hobbies include drawing, dancing, singing, and playing the piano.

Olga is a student of Liceum ogólnokształcące im Bolesława Krzywoustego w Głogowie, second year of Polish high school. She is a volunteer in many organizations, a writer and a poet. At the moment, Olga is preparing for a national biology competition and philosophy competition. In the past, Olga was a leader of a local volunteering group.

I am a senior at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School. My past experiences with STEM include a robotics club back in Elementary and Middle School. As well as various math classes from Algebra, Geometry, Trig, and Calculus. My past volunteering experiences have been at food shelters, food pantries, taking care of dogs at a shelter.

Aside from volunteering for BGHO, Madison volunteers for local organizations as well as Tech Goes Home. Some hobbies include art, tennis, golf, and music.

Anchal Mahajan

Anchal is a senior at Billerica Memorial High School in Billerica, MA. Aside from volunteering for BGHO, she has pursued her STEM interests by taking science electives and leading STEM clubs at school, such as the Future Medical Professionals Club. Anchal is especially interested in molecular and microbiology and wants to eventually enter the medical field as a healthcare professional. Anchal recently completed a rigorous medical research internship and a biotechnology program about Alzheimer’s in addition to multiple other activities and volunteer experiences. She has won student of the term repeatedly, a SUMMA award for biomedical science, and the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award at her high school. Some of Anchal’s favorite hobbies are figure skating, playing the alto saxophone, and photography!

Since then, she has attended various STEM clubs, including math and coding groups. When not sleeping or doing homework, she can be found drawing, reading, or playing piano.
